Submissions

We are currently taking submissions for LCD Magazine Issue 3.

If you are looking to get your artwork physically printed and published in LCD Magazine, now is the perfect time to do so!

There are four categories for submissions:

Content Guide:

LCD is open to most types of content. We believe artists do their best work when allowed to speak freely. However, we do have a few guidelines for the content of your submissions.

  • LCD will not promote hateful or bigoted ideology. We aim not to censor art, but don’t use this as an excuse to be an asshole.
  • DO NOT make something for the primary purpose of being shocking/edgy. We are not the publication for you.
    • This does not mean we are against “edgy” content, but it should be done with purpose and direction.
  • LCD is meant to be a timeless publication. We will not accept content that is based entirely around current trends. If people won’t understand it in five years, we will not publish it.
  • It is the responsibility of the creator/submitter to ensure that they have all the rights to the assets used in their piece (Don’t get us sued).

LCD Magazine is first and foremost meant to be entertaining and engaging. We are not a platform to promote ideas, we are a platform to promote art. If you have ideas/messages you want to convey to our reader, MAKE IT INTERESTING AND ARTFUL. We are not interested in boring think-pieces with no artistic merit.

Finished Work

If you want to submit a finished page/spread for Issue 3, please ensure it follows our print guidelines:

A Photoshop template for a page/spread is available HERE

For non-digital works and pieces that need finishing:

If you are making something that cannot easily be submitted as a finished page, please send us all details about the piece, along with what you need from LCD to make it ready for print.

Examples:

  • 2-dimensional artwork, such as a painting that needs to be scanned/photographed
  • Physical pieces such as sculptures, 1-of-1 clothing, or any other art that cannot easily be represented in a 2D space.
  • Written works that need a visual presentation component

Depending on your specific needs, LCD may be able to help with basic photography, graphic design, or anything else needed to present your piece.

NOTE: THIS DIFFERS FROM “COLLABORATIONS”. WE ARE ABLE TO HELP YOU WITH THE FINISHING STEPS OF YOUR PROJECT, BUT ARE NOT GOING TO WORK WITH YOU THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE PROCESS. IF YOU HAVE A COLLABORATIVE PROJECT IN MIND FOR LCD, PLEASE SUBMIT UNDER “COLLABORATIONS”

Modeling

LCD is always looking for models. If you are interested in appearing in a shoot for LCD, please provide the following information:

Collaborations

Please submit a request for collaboration if you have an idea you would like to work with LCD on. This is for projects where you need more involvement from us than just finishing elements.

Full-scale collaborations will be limited, as we like to give our full attention to anyone we are working with. For the best chance of having your project move to production, please provide as many SPECIFIC details as possible. We will not respond to vague requests.

Examples of vague requests:

  • “I’m a photographer who would love to shoot something for you”
  • “I’m a graphic designer who’d love to help with stuff”
  • “I was thinking of maybe doing something with 3D, could you help with that?”

Examples of specific requests:

  • “I am a photographer who wants to do a fashion editorial in the style of ______, but I require help with graphic design and layout.”
  • “I am a graphic designer, I make work in a _____ style. I want to design a fake video game where I make all the UIs, graphics, and texture, but I need your help with 3D modeling.”
  • “I am a 3D artist who wants to superimpose an original character into a fashion shoot. I need help getting original photos taken of _____ that I can implement my 3D work into.”

The above are only brief examples. Please give us as much detail as possible about your proposed project. The more specific, the more likely we are to pick it up.

Advertising

We are always looking for advertisers for LCD Magazine. We offer both ad space and ad-creation services. We are well-versed in photography, graphic design, 3D modeling, and much more. Should you require help producing an ad for your brand/company, we are able to help.

If you or your team are able to independently create your own advertisement, we offer consultations on how to make sure your ad is properly optimized for print.

Please fill out the form with who you are, what you are looking to advertise, any specific ideas for the ad, and budget.
